it's a glitch. When ever that happens, just thunder from far away, that is if you got a pet available to thunder, you will win. Don't get near them, cuz their stuck and if you do get near them, they can CC if a warrior.
Also, the best way to win is challenge just before xp skill. Then you go in with xp skill and win practically automatically.
